Youth Girls
Grades 3-8
Girls Youth Lacrosse is a non-contact sport. This does not mean the players will not accidently bump into each other or fall down. It does mean that the bumping, blocking, and stick checks of the boys program are not allowed.
Youth lacrosse teams are divided by gender and then by grade. Typical teams combine two grades: 3 & 4, 5 & 6, and 7 & 8. Youth teams are coached by volunteer parent coaches (who are trained by high school coaches). Teams practice two nights a week from early March through May. Games are played on weeknights (replace some practices) and Saturdays throughout the metro area. Girls lacrosse is a game of speed and finesse, not contact. No stick-to-stick contact is allowed until grade 7/8.
Winter Thaw is an optional pre-season conditioning program.
